Apple TV+ has announced its new docuseries, K-Pop Idols, which will feature singer Jessi, boyband CRAVITY and girl group Blackswan.

On July 25, Apple TV+ announced its upcoming six-episode documentary series called K-pop Idols, which it said will “offers fans an unprecedented backstage pass to the world’s biggest musical phenomenon” in a press release.

The docuseries will be a “behind-the-scenes look at the highly competitive reality of K-pop stardom”, following the lives of singer Jessi, boyband CRAVITY and girl group Blackswan.

“The series follows the superstars through trials and triumphs as they break down cultural and musical barriers in K-pop with passion, creativity and determination while they chase their dreams,” Apple TV+ added.

The streamer has also released a clip from the upcoming series, soundtracked by BTS‘ hit single ‘ON’. “Usually, people would go through tough situations and they would be like, ‘let me take a break from this’. But me, I can’t give up right now,” Jessi says in the teaser.

K-pop Idols is set to premiere August 30 on Apple TV+. The series is produced by Matador Content, with Todd Lubin (Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry), Jack Turner (War Game) and more.

In other K-pop news, boyband SEVENTEEN have announced their upcoming 2024 ‘Right Here’ world tour, featuring concerts in the US, Asia, Japan and more. It’s set to kick off some time in October 2024.

Meanwhile, girl group 2NE1 have announced the kick-off dates for their upcoming 2024 to 2025 comeback world tour, titled ‘Welcome Back’. It comes just days after the girl group revealed that they would be reuniting, eight years after disbanding in 2016.
