Jordan Peele

Jordan Peele has made plans for a new project coming in Halloween 2026.

Peele, best-known for the Oscar-winning horror Get Out, is set to return to theatres after a short break from directing, his last directorial project being Nope in 2022.

His production company Monkeypaw Productions has, however, produced a handful of projects since then, the most recent being 2024 action thriller, Monkey Man, starring and directed by Dev Patel.

Now, Peele has announced an updated release date for his latest directorial project, which was originally scheduled for Christmas Day this year.

Following last yearā€™s strikes in Hollywood, the film was removed from Universalā€™s release schedule. However, Peele has announced that the new release date for the project will be October 23, 2026.

Peele shared a post on his official X account, simply depicting the release date. Fans of the directorā€™s work took to the comments to show their anticipation, with many being confused by the lengthy wait time.

ā€œWake me up when itā€™s 10.23.26,ā€ wrote one user, while another said: ā€œIdk what it isā€¦ but inject into my veins. The power of a good brand. Any art you touch excites me. You give the mindā€™s palate something different to digest.ā€

Peele opened up about the project at the start of this year, calling it his “favourite” of all his works so far.

After a successful comedy career, Peele made his directorial debut with 2017ā€™s Get Out, for which he received the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, and numerous other nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director.

Get Out went on to gross $255.4million against a budget of $4.5million, and was chosen by Time as one of the top 10 films of the year.

Peel then produced Spike Leeā€™s BlacKkKlansman in 2017, before returning to directing and writing for the acclaimed horror movies Us (2019) and Nope (2022), reuniting with Get Outā€™s Daniel Kaluuya for the latter. He also co-wrote the 2021 sequel to 1992ā€™s Candyman, directed by Nia DaCosta.
