Last November, Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson revealed that Kaiser Chiefs had been in the studio with Chicâs Nile Rodgers, working on new music.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz (via Contactmusic), Wilson said âthere is always an album on the horizon,â but the band needs to figure out âhow far the horizon is.â
âWe have a lot of material,â he continued before revealing theyâve âjust been in the studio last week with Nile Rodgers and been writing stuff with him.â
He went on to say he didnât know when theyâd be releasing new music but âyouâll probably hear something from those sessions in spring.â
Kaiser Chiefs last released an album in 2019, with âDuckâ. In a three-star review, NME said: âThe Leeds lads are casually confident on their seventh(!) record, which boasts everyman anthems and even a reference to sitcom hero Frasier Crane. âDuckâ is far from inventive, but thereâs fun to be had.â
Away from the band, Wilson recently revealed that heâs written an album for kids.
âI started writing a book because I was enjoying the freedom of not having to think about going on tour. I thought, âIâm going to write a fantastic novelâ. Writing a novel is hard. I noticed it started to rhyme and it turned into songs.â
âNow Iâve written a load of songs for kids that are really good. Itâs all demoed and Iâm very excited about it.â
