This year’s KCON Los Angeles festival will be broadcast live on network TV in the US on The CW.

On July 11, CJ ENM announced that part of KCON LA 2024, which is taking place later this month, will be aired on national television network The CW. This will mark the first time any K-pop festival will be broadcast live on primetime national television in the US.

The annual major K-pop festival takes place at the Crypto.com Arena and the Los Angeles Convention Centre from July 26 to 28. The festival’s main M Countdown concert, which takes place on Sunday, July 28 will be aired live on The CW Network starting at 8pm ET.

The line-up for the M Countdown concert include K-pop groups and soloists like NCT 127, STAYC, ZEROBASEONE, Jeon Somi and Zico. Upcoming girl group izna, which was formed earlier this year through Mnet’s I-LAND 2, are also slated to perform.

The concert will be hosted by South Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun, best known for his leading roles in hit K-dramas like Queen of Tears, It’s Okay to Not Be Okay and My Love from the Star.

“We are beyond excited to partner with The CW to bring the electrifying M Countdown at KCON LA 2024 live to national primetime television. This historic broadcast is a testament to the incredible community of K-pop fans who have made these groups global sensations,” said CJ ENM’s Head of Music Entertainment Harry H.K. Shin in a press release.

In other news, the UK’s BBC is set to air a new reality show, Made in Korea: The K-pop Experience later this summer in conjunction with SM Entertainment. The series will follow five UK contestants through the K-pop training system as they prepare to debut as a new global boy band.
