South Korean actors Kim Soo-hyun and Jo Bo-ah have been tapped to lead an upcoming K-drama titled Knock-Off, set to hit Disney+ in 2025.
Disney+ announced Knock-Off and its cast today (August 26) in a press release. The series will follow Kim Soo-hyun’s leading role in the record-breaking Queen of Tears, and will also star Jo Bo-ah, known for her roles in Tale of the Nine Tailed and Military Prosecutor Doberman.
Directed and written by Song of the Bandits Park Hyeon-seok and Han Jung-hoon respectively, Knock-Off is described by Disney+ as “dramatic, dangerous and crime-ridden” as it dives into the underground world of illegally sold counterfeit goods.
It will follow a man whose life was ruined after the Asian financial crisis that occurred in 1997. Desperate to return to what he once had, he finds himself tangled in the trade of knock-off goods, steadily and rapidly making his way to the top as a mogul of the scene.
Although not much else about Knock-Off has been announced as of writing, the streamer did reveal that the series is set to arrive on the Disney+ platform exclusively in 2025. More details including a release window, teasers and more are expected in the coming months.
In other K-drama news, Disney+ has also released an action-packed trailer for its upcoming series Seoul Busters. The show will star Kim Dong-wook, Seo Hyun-woo and more as members of the lowest ranked violent crimes team in the country.
