Kit Harington during the Paris Fashion Week 2023

Kit Harington has made his return to the world of Game Of Thrones, by way of an ad for new mobile game Legends.

Game Of Thrones: Legends is a mobile puzzle game from Zynga Inc. that sees players recruiting a number of famous Game Of Thrones and House Of The Dragon characters to fight for their Westeros house. These include Rhaenyra Targaryen, the Hound, Ser Criston Cole, Arya Stark and Jon Snow.

And now Jon Snow actor Kit Harington has got involved in the action, with a new ad.

“Winter is coming,” says Harrington at the start of the clip. “I’m ready to forge my own destiny. I’ve composed my strategy, refined my tactics, I’ll solve every puzzle and overcome every challenge to defeat the deadliest threat we’ve ever faced; the long night” he continues before playing the game.

After a resounding defeat, his opponent tries to taunt him using Game Of Thrones catchphrase “you know nothing Jon Snow” before he retaliates with a blast of dragon fire. Check it out below.

“The creativity and care taken to create Game of Thrones: Legends is obvious and it feels completely natural to jump back into Westeros for this game,” Harington said in a statement. “This is a true love letter to the fans, of whom the franchise would be nothing without, and I’m honoured to pay tribute to them in this new campaign.”

Game Of Thrones: Legends was released last week, with the free-to-play puzzler available now for mobile.

Speaking to NME, Yaron Leyvand, executive vice president of mobile games at Zyng said: “We have worked closely with the team at Warner Bros. Games to bring the Game Of Thrones universe and characters to life in a rich tableau. In this game, players can build their house of champions with characters from both Game Of Thrones and House Of The Dragon and utilise the lore of the series to create their own unique story.”

Harington played Jon Snow for all eight seasons of Game Of Thrones and was involved in a potential spin-off that would focus on his exploits after the events of that controversial finale. Earlier this year, he confirmed the idea had been scrapped because producers “couldn’t find the right story to tell” though.

“There may be a time in the future where we return to it, but at the moment, no. It’s firmly on the shelf,” he added.

In other news, a number of blockbuster games including Grand Theft Auto 6 and Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 won’t be impacted by the voice actor strike.
