KoRn worked on a new album during lockdown, the bandâs frontman Jonathan Davis has confirmed.
The band last released an album in 2019 with âThe Nothingâ. That record was their 13th studio album since forming in 1993.
Speaking to Kerrang!, Davis said the group had used the enforced downtime brought about by the coronavirus pandemic to work on a new album.
âWe just got done writing a record,â he said. âThe band is in different spots all over the place now, too. I’m in Bakersfield, a couple of guys are in LA and a couple of guys are in Nashville.

âIt’s like an act of God to get us all together to do anything. We have to plan that all out. I’m sure there are a bazillion other bands with new music to release, too. In the meantime, let’s just go out, play live and have some fun.â
Guitarist Brian âHeadâ Welch previously teased that the band have âsome really exciting newsâ coming soon.
In an interview in January, the musician said: âI asked the manager because Iâm doing Love And Death but I know people are going to ask me about Korn, and he said, âJust tell them the truth. Tell them that youâve been getting together with them, youâre working on some stuff, and that weâve got some really exciting news coming outâ.
âI think weâre gonna make some kind of announcement pretty soon, and thatâs pretty much all I can say.â
This weekend, meanwhile, KoRn will perform a âgroundbreakingâ livestream gig from the set of the Stranger Things immersive experience.
âKoRn: Monumentalâ will take place tomorrow (April 24) and will see the band play ârare and sought-after deep cuts and classicsâ from across their back catalogue, as well as provide the live debuts for songs from âThe Nothingâ.
