Lauryn Hill and her rap group The Fugees have seemingly quietly cancelled their US tour ā find out more below.
Hill and The Fugees were scheduled to kick off their world tour this Friday (August 9) in Tampa, Florida, and would continue their trek of the United States until September 21, before touring the UK and Europe in October, closing off the run of shows in Hamburg, Germany on November 1 ā they had just announced additional shows for the European tour last week.
Now, however, it seems the US leg of the tour has been cancelled on short notice with no explanation. While the tourās dates remain available on Hillās official website, all of their US performance dates have been pulled from the Live Nation website.
News of the US tour’s cancellation was not announced via official channels, but instead began spreading through social media after fans began posting screenshots of emails from Ticketmaster announcing that shows had been cancelled and refunds were on the way.
Ticketmaster’s messaging reads: “Unfortunately, the Event Organiser has had to cancel your event”.
I have felt a lot of disappointment in my life (Philly sports fan here!
) but not much compares to Lauryn Hill & the Fugees canceling their tour days before it was scheduled to start. Seeing them perform in Philly, a city so close to their hearts & mine would have been a dream! pic.twitter.com/vv2TSox8gr
