Liam Gallagher, Peggy Gou

Liam Gallagher and Peggy Gou have been announced as the new faces of fashion brand Stone Island.

The Oasis frontman – who last week announced a huge comeback tour with brother Noel for 17 dates across the UK and Ireland next year – is among stars who will be fronting the brand’s autumn and winter campaign.

DJ Peggy Gou’s ambassadorship also makes her the first woman to be featured in a Stone Island campaign.

Other big names featured include Being Human actor Russell Tovey and skateboarder Sage Elsesser.

The campaign posters spotlight a selection of answers from a 100-question Q&A with each of the stars. In Gallagher’s questions, he’s was asked his favourite city in the world, to which he responded: “Manchester City, and the City Of Manchester.”

Later, he was asked what he’s grateful for, replying: “Everything. I love being alive. It’s amazing.”

It’s no secret Gallagher is a fan of the Stone Island parkas, often donning them in the hot summer months. He once admitted to even wearing his signature parka while gardening.

Back in 2017, LG also asked the “cunt” who stole his Stone Island jacket from his hotel room while playing Glastonbury to hand it over and “all will be forgiven”.

Gou, meanwhile, was asked what advice she’d give her younger self, sharing: “Don’t take rubbish from other people.”

This is hardly Gallagher’s first foray into fashion, having teamed up with Adidas on several occasions. Back in 2009, he also launched his own label called Pretty Green, before it was sold to JD Sports in 2019.

The campaign launch arrives at a particularly auspicious moment, after Oasis announced their long-awaited reunion in the UK and Ireland last week, tickets for which have already sold out after fans queued for hours.

Despite efforts to curb ticket touting, the general on-sale quickly sparked controversy when fans discovered Ticketmaster was using dynamic pricing that increased with demand.

Not warning Oasis fans about the dynamic pricing may have even been a breach of consumer law, according to experts.

Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy has now called for a review into “dynamic pricing” and secondary ticket sites.

Meanwhile, Oasis fans across the pond are waiting hopefully for any news of US tour dates, as a new billboard seemed to tease an announcement.
