Slowthai played an intimate gig at New Yorkâs Babyâs All Right on Thursday night (January 13), where he was joined onstage by Lil Yachty.
Tickets for the gig cost just $1 (73p), and Slowthai (real name Tyron Frampton) announced it on Wednesday (January 12) via social media. âMy New York family, Iâm coming to see you,â he wrote. âSpread the word but wear a maskâ.
Slowthai opened the show at the 280-capacity venue with 2020âs âEnemyâ and his 2021 Skepta collab âCancelledâ, before running through a host of tracks from second album âTyronâ. Frampton also played âDoormanâ and âT N Biscuitsâ his from debut album, âNothing Great About Britainâ, alongside his collaboration with Gorillaz, âMomentary Blissâ.
According to Brooklyn Vegan, Slowthai was joined onstage by Lil Yachty. The rapper never picked up a mic, though, offering moral support instead.

Earlier this week, Lil Yachty teased an âalternativeâ album with âpsychedelicâ elements that wonât sound like his usual rap music.
âMy new album is a non-rap album,â he said. âItâs like a psychedelic alternative project. Itâs different. Itâs all live instrumentation. Iâve changed my dynamic. Iâm creating music a whole lot differently.â
Last year, Slowthai teamed up with James Blake for a new version of âFuneralâ, taken from Blakeâs âFriends That Break Your Heartâ. They christened the release by performing the track live on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Fontaines D.C. have also said they’d collaborate with Slowthai “in a heartbeat. Absolutely. Iâm up for whatever, to be honest. Iâm there at the drop of a hat,â said frontman Grian Chatten.
