Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis have promised fans that they will hear new material from Pink Slip in the ‘Freaky Friday’ sequel.
Curtis and Lohan starred in the 2003 Disney remake of Jodie Foster’s 1976 film by the same name, and took to the stage at Disney’s D23 fan event in Anaheim on Friday (August 9), to tease details of the follow-up film, including it’s new title, ‘Freakier Friday’.
One of the most memorable scenes from the teen comedy sees Lohan’s character perform the song ‘Take Me Away’ with her fictional band Pink Slip in a battle of the bands, shot at House of Blues in Hollywood — which earned the film a fan in director Quentin Tarantino.
Now, the duo have told People the film’s iconic band will reform in the 2025 sequel.

“Pink Slip is back, let’s put it that way,” Curtis said, with Lohan adding that fans can expect to see even more of the band in the film.
When we were [filming the songs, audience members] were like, ‘Encore!’” she said. “And we were like, ‘We only have one song, we didn’t think this through! But there are more songs in this movie.”
Curtis went on to explain: “Let me just say this. There’s a song in this new movie that is going to the…” before Lohan finished her sentence, explaining: “It tugs on your heartstrings.”
“It will be a very popular song,” Curtis continued. “It’ll be the song of the summer next summer. I guarantee it. And I’m an old lady and so you should trust me on this.”
Mean Girls actress Lohan agreed, and noted that the reaction on-set reminded her of the impact of the band. “Last night we were filming a scene. I’ll say, we bring some things back,” she hinted.
“But just seeing the reaction that people had to it, was so heart-warming. Like I almost wanted to cry because I didn’t realize how Pink Slip really became so huge.”
Elsewhere, Curtis recently revealed that she asks for crew members to wear name tags on set, explaining: “You guys know our names, we don’t know yours. There’s something inequitable to me about that.”
