Madonna has announced details of the 35th anniversary edition reissue of her ‘Like A Prayer’ album.

Announced today (July 23), the forthcoming project marks the second release from the pop star’s Silver Collection series – which will see her share a range of limited-edition vinyl reissues.

The series kicked off last year with the reissue of her 1986 third studio album, ‘True Blue’, and comes in celebration of the singer hitting 40 years in the music industry.

Now, the queen of pop has confirmed that a reissue of her fourth LP, ‘Like A Virgin’, is also on the way, and is set to be shared on September 6. The Silver Collection edition will celebrate 35 years since the album first arrived and will include a new exclusive poster of the singer.

Originally debuting on March 21, 1989, ‘Like A Prayer’ was an instant classic in Madge’s discography, and praised by fans and critics alike. It also saw her take an increasingly personal approach to her songwriting, and remains one of her most personal albums to date.

Following its release, it became the singer’s third consecutive Number One, spent six weeks at the top of the Billboard 200, sold over 15million copies worldwide and contained hits like ‘Express Yourself’ and ‘Cherish’.

The album also featured Madonna’s collaboration with Prince, who co-wrote and sang on ‘Love Song’ and played guitar (uncredited) on ‘Like A Prayer’ and ‘Act Of Contrition’. Find the full tracklist below and pre-order the ‘Silver Collection’ edition here.

The ‘Like A Prayer (The Silver Collection)’ tracklist is:

Side One
1. ‘Like A Prayer’
2. ‘Express Yourself’
3. ‘Love Song’ – with Prince
4. ‘Till Death Do Us Part’
5. ‘Promise To Try’

Side Two
1. ‘Cherish’
2. ‘Dear Jessie’
3. ‘Oh Father’
4. ‘Keep It Together’
5. ‘Spanish Eyes’
6. ‘Act Of Contrition’

In other Madonna news, it was recently reported that a planned biopic around the singer is back in the works.

Earlier this month (July 16), the pop icon took to social media to share that she’s been rewriting the script for the biographical film, which is now being titled Who’s That Girl. The film is being titled after her 1987 album of the same title – but is not to be confused with her 1987 comedy film that shares the same name.

The biopic – which has been in the works for several years now – was scrapped in January last year, and would’ve seen the pop singer direct as a way to stop “misogynistic men” from telling her story.

All upcoming projects follow on the heels of her recently completed ‘Celebration’ tour, which included countless shows across the globe. Multiple sold-out stops at The O2 in London were also included – which were given a five-star review by NME and described as showcasing “a series of spectacular set-pieces referencing iconic highlights from Madonna’s reign”.
