Members of The Zutons and Echo & the Bunnymen joined Jamie Webster onstage at his recent homecoming concert in Liverpool â watch fan footage of those moments below.
At Sefton Park yesterday (July 12), Webster invited several guest musicians during a section of the set that comprised entirely of covers.
He began with a cover of Talking Headsâ âThis Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)â, where he was joined by singer-songwriter Brooke Combes, who performed as a support act earlier in the day. After which, he invited The Zutonsâ Dave McCabe for a cover of the bandâs âValerieâ, while Echo & the Bunnymenâs Ian McCulloch joined for a cover of their 1997 single âNothing Lasts Foreverâ.
Webster ended this portion of the set with a cover of The Real Thingâs âYou to Me Are Everythingâ â he added that the band were invited to join him onstage but were not in attendance that night.
A notable figure who was in attendance, however, was âThe Royle Familyâ actor Ricky Tomlinson, who gave a rousing speech about his hometown Liverpool prior to the bandâs performance, which began with ‘Voice of the Voiceless’.

Her being in power, that’s refreshing to hear for a start,” he said. “The fact that the Rwanda scheme has been scrapped straight away, that’s instantly a step in the right direction.â
Webster will soon join a line-up that includes Liam Fray, Blossoms, Jake Bugg, and The Lathums, among others, for the Liam Gallagher & Friends: Malta Weekender festival thatâll take place on the island. The four-day event will take place from September 19 to 24.
