METALLICA’s ‘The Metallica Blacklist’ Lands At No. 7 On ‘Top Album Sales’ Chart

According to Billboard, METALLICA's "The Metallica Blacklist", a massive 53-song collection featuring covers of every track off of the band's self-titled breakthrough album, sold 8,000 copies in the U.S. in the week ending October 7 to land at position No. 7 on Billboard's Top Album Sales chart. Of that sum, 6,300 copies were CDs while nearly 1,400 copies the vinyl LP edition. A week earlier, when "The Metallica Blacklist" was only available to purchase as a download, spent one week on the Top Album Sales chart at No. 73. The physical editions of the album, on CD and vinyl LP, were made available on October 1. "The Metallica Blacklist" offers up new dimensions of the record whose gravitational pull first drew the mainstream to METALLICA — and provides new insights into the universal and timeless appeal that kept it there: the boundary-smashing influence these 12 songs have had on fans and musicians of all stripes.
