Cyrus began: âIâm gonna let everybody get on a little Disney Legend secret. Iâm the one that tells you what youâre not supposed to know. And what I want to say, is that legends get scared, too. Iâm scared right now, but the difference is we do it anyway, and all of you can do that every single day. Itâs legendary to be afraid and do it anyway. There is no such thing as failure when you try. Thatâs the only way you lose.â
Later on, Cyrus continued, referencing the hit Disney series Hannah Montana: âIn 2005, Disney was on a mission to rebuild the company. Thatâs why they hired Bob Iger, and me.â
âI stand here still proud to have been Hannah Montana,â Cyrus added. âThis award is dedicated to Hannah and all of her amazing, loyal fans, and to everyone who has made my dream a reality. To quote the legend herself: âThis is the life.’â

Other inductees as Disney Legends this year Angela Bassett, James Cameron, Jamie Lee Curtis, legendary Marvel comic artist Steve Ditko, Harrison Ford, Frank Oz, Kelly Ripa and John Williams among others.
In a four-star review of Cyrus’ 2023 album ‘Endless Summer Vacation’, Nick Levine wrote for NME: “It all adds up to an album that holds your full attention even if it isnât Cyrusâs boldest or most visionary. âEndless Summer Vacationâ certainly feels like an accurate reflection of who she is as an artist â and a person â in 2023. Sheâs still working out what she wants from a relationship. She knows she can pull off different musical styles even when sheâs not trying to make bangers (or âBangerzâ). And when she sings ‘But donât forget, baby Iâm a wildcard‘Â on the third-to-last song, youâll definitely believe her.”
