nct jaehyun solo album j

NCT vocalist Jaehyun has released a teaser for his upcoming solo album ‘J’.

On August 8 at midnight KST, the K-pop singer surprised fans with a trailer clip titled ‘The Smoky Night’. The visual features Jaehyun taking flowers from a greenhouse. Changing into a formal suit, the singer then places the flowers in a freezer filled with other frozen flowers.

Jaehyun’s first solo album ‘J’ arrives on August 26 at 6pm KST alongside Korean and English versions of its title track ‘Smoke’.

Ahead of the release, Jaehyun will also drop two songs, ‘Roses’ and ‘Dandelion’ across music platforms on August 12 at 6pm KST, per Newsen. The singer previewed the latter song at the 2024 Seoul Jazz Festival with Lauv.

SM Entertainment will release further details for the album such as its tracklist and rollout schedule at a later date.

The upcoming record will mark the singer’s official debut as a soloist, despite having released several solo tracks under his agency’s SM Station and NCT Lab projects, the most recent of which was last August’s ‘Horizon’. In an interview with NME, he shared that it was inspired by “horizontal moments, like when views are really calm and peaceful”.

Meanwhile, Jaehyun’s latest release with NCT was NCT 127’s sixth studio album ‘Walk’, which arrived last month alongside its title track of the same name. Prior to that, the sub unit released the winter digital single ‘Be There for Me’ in December 2023.

Elsewhere in K-pop, SEVENTEEN have announced dates for the US leg of their upcoming 2024-2025 ‘Right Here’ world tour. The tour kicks off this October with a two-night concert in Goyang, South Korea, before heading to New York City, Los Angeles and more.
