Nukuluk have announced their forthcoming mixtape ‘stillworld’ and shared a brand new song called ‘Faith’.
Fresh off the release of their Henry Spychalski-directed video for ‘Hand On The Hilt‘, the South London collective have returned with the news of ‘stillworld’, their first new music since 2023’s ‘SUPERGLUE’ EP. ‘Stillworld’ is due to drop on November 27 via colourburst records.
‘Faith’ was made in collaboration with Deathcrash bassist Patrick Fitzgerald prior to Nukuluk’s inception. Lyrically, it delves into vocalist Monika and his relationship with his religious mother: “Faith can be forced on the faithless through love!
“‘Faith’ is a song about motherhood, about receiving gifts and curses,” the band continued. “It’s about discovering the gift of faith within a complicated legacy. I spent a lot of energy foiling destructive plans my mother had for me, but the unwavering, towering, divine love that motivated them lives inside me as faith.”

Nukuluk is currently comprised of Monika, Syd (singer and guitarist), Louis (drummer), and Mateo (bassist). Though founding member and synth player Olivia departed recently, she also played a key role in the production of ‘stillworld’.
A staple of the south London music scene, Nukuluk first gained notoriety with their debut EP, 2021’s ‘DISASTER POP’. The EP landed them a coveted spot on the NME 100 for 2022, with NME writing: “Answering all the questions as to where south London’s Windmill scene could go next from spawning generational bands such as black midi, Goat Girl, Black Country, New Road and more, come experimental hip-hop/electronic collective Nukuluk, taking on those infamous spinny nights with an otherworldly sound.
“Caught in the tug and thrust of vocalists Syd and Monika, their debut EP ‘DISASTER POP’ ricochets like gas particles from ambient to chaotic hyper-pop and off-kilter rap verses that play like Danny Brown reading Virginia Woolf’s poetry,” we continued. “Battling mid-track from loud to quiet, it’s somehow both earthy and intergalactic, a surge of heat and energy ready to explode.”
