New open-world gacha RPG Wuthering Waves has had its fair share of issues since launching May 22, and developer Kuro Games has now issued an apology for the “deficiencies and issues” players have discovered.
“We apologise for the deficiencies and issues present in Wuthering Waves, our first fully independently developed and globally published game at Kuro Games,” reads the statement.
“We understand that this has affected your gaming experience, and we are working to improve it for those who love the game. We have been working on optimisations and iterations for the current 1.0 version, and the development of subsequent version updates is also underway.”
Wuthering Waves is a gacha game like Genshin Impact. It features voice actors from Final Fantasy and Baldur’s Gate 3. Players can earn in-game currency or spend real-world money to get a chance to win certain playable characters. Whenever real world money is being continuously spent on games, players naturally want to ensure their cash isn’t going to waste due to technical issues or glitches.
One main issue players had with the game was how grind-y it felt obtaining levels for Echo in the game. As a result, the dev team will be increasing the “yield of Echoes and Echo development materials.”
As part of the dev team’s apology for how it handled previous issues, it will be giving all players of Wuthering Waves one million Shell Credits. Players will also be receiving 20 Crystal Solvents.
“We sincerely apologise for our improper way of handling this situation and the inconvenience caused,” the statement read in regards to the team not disclosing how it hotfixed a previous issue with the game’s balancing.
In other news, the developers of the Taskmaster VR game worked closely with show hosts Greg Davies and Alex Horne.
