PS Plus has had a pretty mixed year so far. While there have been some key highlights, the lineups of games across the Essential, Extra, and Premium tiers have been mixed at best. August could mark a shift for the service as we head into a busy end-of-year release season with tons of huge games. Here is what you can expect from the PS Plus August 2024 games.
Below, we have all the details about next month’s games, including the date they will be announced, what will be leaving in August, and some predictions as to what the games for the Essential tier could be.
PS Plus August 2024 games
The PS Plus August 2024 games will be announced on July 31, 2024 for the Essential tier, and August 14, 2024 for the Extra and Premium tiers. The games will then be made available on August 6, 2024, and August 20, 2024, respectively.
The current list of games that will be leaving the service in August are:
- Borderlands 3 – PS5, PS4 (Available until August 6, 2024)
- NHL 24 – PS5, PS4 (Available until August 6, 2024)
- Among Us – PS5, PS4 (Available until August 6, 2024)
This list will increase once the July PS Plus titles for the Extra and Premium tiers are released on July 16.
However, despite not knowing the games yet, that doesn’t mean we can’t make some predictions as to what could appear in the Essential tier and headline this month’s lineup.
‘Outriders Complete Edition’ – PS5, PS4
Outriders is a 1-3 player co-op RPG shooter set in an dark and desperate sci-fi world. As mankind bleeds out in the trenches of Enoch, you’ll create your own Outrider and embark on a journey across the hostile planet in the pursuit of a mysterious signal. The Complete Edition also includes the Worldslayer expansion, which brings an entirely new endgame, fresh class trees, and a new campaign to work through – on top of a ton of new loot to earn.
‘Sonic Frontiers’ – PS5, PS4
Race across five massive overworld islands, each with their own unique action-platforming challenges and hidden secrets to uncover in Sonic Frontiers. This fresh, open-world take on the classic character offers up a whole ancient island to explore with a collection of beautiful landscapes to traverse, bosses to take down, and puzzles to solve.
‘Citizen Sleeper’ – PS5, PS4
You are a sleeper, a digitised human consciousness in an artificial body, owned by a corporation that wants you back. Thrust amongst the unfamiliar and colourful inhabitants of the Eye, you need to build friendships, earn your keep, and navigate the factions of this strange metropolis, if you hope to survive to see the next cycle. Citizen Sleeper is a classic narrative-driven adventure where you decide what happens and it was one of the most critically acclaimed games of 2022.
