Queenâs Roger Taylor and Brian May have confirmed that they have unearthed an unreleased song by the band featuring late frontman Freddie Mercury.
The band members shared the revelation during an interview this weekend with Zoe Ball on BBC Radio 2.
âWe did find a little gem from Freddie that weâd kind of forgotten about,â Taylor said. âAnd itâs wonderful. Actually, it was a real discovery. Itâs from the Miracle Sessions and I think itâs going to be out in September.â
Asked who found the track, the title of which has yet to be revealed, May replied: âIt was kind of hiding in plain sight. We looked at it many times and thought, âOh no, we canât really rescue thatâ. But in fact, we went in there again and our wonderful engineering team went, âOK, we can do this and thisâ. Itâs like stitching bits together. But itâs beautiful. Itâs touching.â

Taylor added: âItâs a very passionate piece.â Listen to the interview in full on the BBC website.
Since Mercuryâs death in 1991, Queen have released a number of previously unheard tracks featuring the frontman. In 2014, they shared the compilation album âQueen Foreverâ, which was comprised of songs recorded in the â80s that had been âforgotten aboutâ and featured the vocals of the bandâs original lead singer.
Meanwhile, Griff is one of a number of artists who have covered Queenâs classic 1986 single âA Kind Of Magicâ as part of a new project to mark the global expansion of Coke Studio. The British star joined acts including Ari Lennox and K-pop girl group TRI.BE in recreating the hit track.
