red velvet sweet dreams single 10th anniversary

Red Velvet are set to drop a new single titled ‘Sweet Dreams’ as dedication to fans in celebration of the band’s 10th anniversary.

The new song was announced by SM Entertainment earlier today (July 15). Revealed to be titled ‘Sweet Dreams’, the new track will officially release on August 1 at 6pm KST, which coincides with their 10th debut anniversary.

In support of the new song, a new version of their recent album ‘Cosmic’ – called the ‘Cosmie’ version – will also be released on the same day containing all six songs on the original album along with ‘Sweet Dreams’. Various physical editions of the new version will include figurines or plushies of new original characters inspired by the members.

‘Cosmic’ was released just last month with a title track of the same name. “Thanks to [‘Cosmic’s] melodies and harmonies, that are as vast as the universe, you’ll be able to feel the coolness of a summer night rather than a hot summer day,” said member Seulgi in an interview uploaded by SM Entertainment.

A day after the release of ‘Sweet Dreams’ and the ‘Cosmie’ version of the record, Red Velvet are scheduled to kick off their ‘Happiness: My Dear, ReVe1uv’ Asia tour with a two-night show in Seoul starting on August 2. Following those, the five-piece will go on to play shows in Bangkok, Jakarta, Manila and Macau.

In other K-pop news, BTS’ Jin was one of 11,000 torchbearers involved in the Olympic torch relay ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics, having completed his portion at the Louvre Museum in Paris on July 14 as South Korea’s representative. Watch the K-pop idol carry the torch here.
