Sabrina Carpenter has released a new single, ‘Please Please Please’, along with its accompany music video – you can watch it below.
Earlier this week, Carpenter teased “a surprise” for Thursday, June 6. That surprised turned out to be a follow-up to her chart-topping ‘Espresso’. Produced by Jack Antonoff, ‘Please Please Please’ sees Carpenter begging a lover not to prove her doubts rights: “Please Please Please / Don’t prove I’m right / Please Please Please / Don’t bring me to tears when I just did my makeup so nice“.
It is unclear with if the video for ‘Please Please Please’ is a direct continuation to ‘Espresso’, which ended with Carpenter being whisked away to jail. Directed by Bardia Zeinali, ‘Please Please Please’ begins with Carpenter sitting in jail before being released. As she exits, she catches a glimpse of her real-life boyfriend Barry Keoghan being thrown in a cell.
The video then revolves around the two building a relationship and a cycle of her picking him up after being released for jail, only for Keoghan to get arrested for other crimes, which include kidnapping and robbing a bank.

On June 3, the ‘Nonsense’ singer took to her official social media accounts to share that her sixth studio album titled ‘Short N’ Sweet’ is set for release on August 23 via Island Records and can be pre-ordered / pre-saved here.
Carpenter has since been accused of copying a French magazine for the artwork of her new album without giving the publication credit.
Recently, the singer responded to the BBC after she was allegedly told to keep her performance “PG” at their Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2024 festival, which took place on Sunday (May 26) at Stockwood Park, Luton.
During the outro of her single ‘Nonsense’, Carpenter adlibbed by mentioning BBC by name: “BBC said I should keep it PG / BBC I wish I had it in me”, during which she gestured with her hand before singing “There’s a double meaning if you dig deep” and blowing a kiss to the crowd.
