Sabrina Carpenter has reacted to Adele hailing her mega-hit song ‘Espresso’ as “my jam” at one of her recent gigs.

The ‘Hello’ singer praised Carpenter’s track while performing at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas as part of her ‘Weekends with Adele’ residency this past weekend (May 19).

Adele shared a story of her almost having a wetting accident due to her body trying to get used to the time difference in Las Vegas and being onstage until late after she took a break due to vocal rest. “I nearly [wet] myself because my whole body clock was out of sync,” she told the audience.

She continued: “So being on stage at 11:30, I was desperate for a pee. But I’m always, you know, [going] back to the hotel, in the hotel, whatever, by, sort of like, 11:10 at the latest. And then I have to warm my voice down, then I have a steam shower and things like that.

“As I got into bed last night — cause that’s a very late night for me, normally I’m in bed by 9pm— I found myself singing, ‘I’m working late, ’cause I’m a singer, that Sabrina Carpenter song! ‘I can’t relate to desperation.’ That song is my jam!” she said, referring to ‘Espresso’.

Adele went on to share that that she was sad she couldn’t sing along to the song because she was on vocal rest. “It came out and I couldn’t talk!” she said. “It came out when I couldn’t talk or sing, so since my voice has come back, all last night and this morning that’s what I’ve been singing.”

Carpenter has now reacted to the ‘Easy On Me’ singer’s praise of the song and reshared a post about Adele’s comments on X/Twitter and wrote, “All i read was Adele thinks about me in bed <3.”

The ‘Nonsense’ singer also shared a clip of Adele speaking about ‘Espresso’ on her Instagram stories and said: “Um guys can someone check on me.”

In other news, Carpenter made her debut appearance on Saturday Night Live this weekend (May 18), where she performed numerous songs including ‘Espresso’.

Recently, Carpenter explained the meaning of ‘Espresso’ in a new interview with Apple Music, revealing that she began work on the track while she was in France and looking to create a song that would be ideal to play live, but also have a sense of humour to it.
