2NE1 singer Sandara Park has opened up about the group’s highly anticipated reunion during a recent appearance on a radio show.

2NE1’s Sandara Park was a guest on the July 26 broadcast of SBS POWER FM’s radio show Cultwo Show. During the appearance, which she was asked about her thoughts on the girl group’s newly announced reunion tour, which will kick of in October this year.

“I’m so happy to finally be able to proudly share this news with our fans after eight years. We’ve been waiting for this for so long,” she said, per SBS Star. One of the co-hosts noted to listeners that Park’s “eyes are turning red and watery as she speaks. She’s trying to hold her tears back.”

The 2NE1 singer then opened up about how it was finally like to have the news of the group’s reunion announced to the public. “I wanted to share the news after everything was prepared, so I held back. It still feels like a dream and it’s just so wonderful,” she added.

“I’m exhausted from the practice that I came here in my pajamas. But I’ve been so happy lately,” she added. “We started practicing this week and we are training hard.”

Park also revealed that the quartet have been diligently rehearsing for their concert, saying: “The members and I are really working hard at the moment. We’re planning to continue the tour until the first half of next year, so we all have put our individual activities on hold to focus entirely on 2NE1.”

“We dance for seven hours straight without any complaints because we all know how precious this moment is,” she added.

2NE1 – completed by CL, Minzy and Park Bom – are scheduled for a two-night residency at Seoul’s Olympic Park Olympic Hall on October 5 and 6, marking their first official headline show as a full group in eight years, since they were disbanded in 2016.

2NE1 are also set to embark on a world tour following the kick-off concerts in Seoul, however details about stops, venues and dates are expected to arrive in the coming months. According to YG Entertainment, the tour will stretch into 2025.
