The moody clip opens with the K-pop musician performing the emotional track on a black baby grand piano in the middle of an all-white set. It then cuts to Taemin showcasing powerful choreography on various neon-lit soundstages, as well as an open grass field that features a car on its side in the background.
“The more you try to trap me, I’ll go off the rails so take a / Good look, if you want to see the end, push my buttons / It’s for you, one advice / Best take my own advice,” he sings on the chorus.
‘Advice’ is the title track of his newly released mini-album of the same name, which also features four other songs, including a collaboration with Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon called ‘If I Could Tell You’.
‘Advice’ marks Taemin’s final solo comeback before his upcoming military enlistment at the end of the month. The mini-album is also his first solo release since his third Korean-language studio album, ‘Never Gonna Dance Again’ in December 2020.
Taemin is set to enlist for mandatory military service on May 31, and will be the final member of SHINee to do so. The singer had announced his enlistment last month during a V Live broadcast where he thanked his fans for the support over the past 13 years since his debut. In a separate statement, his agency SM Entertainment had shared in a separate statement that the singer had applied to and been accepted into the army military’s band.
In February 2020, SHINee made their long-awaited return with the album ‘Don’t Call Me’. The group added three new tracks to the record with the repackaged edition of the album, which was retitled ‘Atlantis’. Fellow SHINee members Key and Onew are also expected to drop solo releases in July and September, respectively.
