Last night (August 6), the Iowan metallers took over the Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville, where they performed the first of their 25th anniversary shows. Early into the set, frontman Corey Taylor gave attendees a “brief warning” that they weren’t playing any material outside of their 1999 self-titled debut album.

Slipknot would go on to play the album almost in full, albeit not in order. They notably did not perform ‘Diluted’ from the album, or any of its deluxe tracks that weren’t part of its original release.
They kicked off with ‘(SIC)’, ‘Eyeless’ and ‘Wait And Bleed’, before performing other hits like ‘Liberate’, ‘Purity’, ‘Prosthetics’. Later in the set, they performed ‘No Life’ for the first time since 2000, and ‘Only One’ for the first time since 2012.
The band closed out their set with the menacing ‘Scissors’, marking the first time the song has been performed live since 2000.
Slipknot performed:
‘(SIC)’
‘Eyeless’
‘Wait And Bleed’
‘Get This’
‘Eeyore’
‘Me Inside’ (first time since 2017)

Speaking to NME about their plans for their shows and the future, Shawn âClownâ Crahan said late last year: âIn 25 years of writing seven albums, weâve allowed ourselves to do anything and everything we want. We do what we want, as much as we want, when we want, how we want. Iâm ready to move on from what has been, and move onto a world that I know needs to be. For instance, normally weâd have about two years on and one-and-a-half years off â weâre not doing that anymore.
He continued: âWeâre going back to basics. Iâm ready to kick everybody in the face again! Iâm ready to do a 100-person venue again! Iâm ready to do a 500-person venue. We want to play in front of 500 people, but there are a lot of factors that will mean it canât happen. Weâre at the point where weâve got to ensure safety.
âNobody knows truly whatâs happening. If I were a fan, I would [ask] âWhy wouldnât the band play the album in its entirety?â and âWhy wouldnât the band play some special events that seem intimate and fun?â Iâd put money on it â I want to come full circle and get back to when the dream was only a dream. I canât promise you anything until itâs happening though.
âAs far as the new album, thatâs happening, but thatâs another plan. These live dates are coming first and weâre here to have a good time. This band has never been happier, and that takes a lot because weâve been through a lot â drugs, women, money, fame, ego, isolation. But we are on track.â
