Snoop Dogg has opened the doors to his first-ever licensed weed dispensary in California. Check out the details below.

Named S.W.E.D, an acronym for the rapper’s catchphrase “Smoke Weed Every Day”, the dispensary launched earlier this month (July 14) with a range of products including cannabis, edibles, concentrates, and weed-infused creams, baths, and lotions.

The dispensary, which is located in the heart of Los Angeles, also offers delivery services. “So, sit back, relax, and let us bring the “California Love” to you,” the website reads.

In celebration of S.W.E.D’s opening, Snoop also launched a range of cannabis honouring the late rapper Tupac, who famously gave the artist his first blunt. Snoop recalled the story when he inducted Tupac into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 2017.

“That first blunt sparked a friendship that ran deep,” Snoop said in a statement. “We’ll always have his music, but this is another way I can bring what was meaningful to 2Pac to his fans.”

Snoop took over Death Row Records in 2022 and vowed to “restore the label to its former glory, championing artists, hip-hop, and cannabis culture”.

Part of this mission involved launching Death Row Records Cannabis in January 2023, a brand that offers a range of weed products now for sale at S.W.E.D. Before that, Snoop set up his own weed brand in 2015.

Last year, Snoop made headlines when he announced he was “giving up smoke”. However, it turned out to be a promotional stunt for his partnership with a brand of smokeless stoves.

The rapper infamously employs someone full-time to roll his joints for him, with the star himself previously saying that he smokes approximately 81 blunts a day. Last year, his personal blunt roller revealed that she has rolled around half a million joints for Snoop while working for him.

Renegade Piranha said she’s rolled “over 450,000 joints” for Snoop since landing the job. “I do about half a pound a day, which is 75 to 150 joints,” she told The Kyle And Jackie O Show.

Last week, Snoop carried the Olympic torch through Paris ahead of the 2024 opening ceremony. The rapper – who is serving as a special correspondent for US TV network NBC throughout the Olympic games  took the torch down the streets of Saint-Denis where the Stade de France Olympic stadium is located as the final torchbearer.

It’s not his first time serving as a correspondent. In 2021, alongside Kevin Hart, Snoop reported on the 2021 Tokyo Olympics and went viral for his reaction to a horse he saw “crip-walking” during the Equestrian event.

“Oh the horse crip-walking, you see that? On the set! That’s gangster. This horse is off the chain, I gotta get this motherfucker in a video,” Snoop said in the 2021 viral video.

The rapper has since told Jimmy Fallon that he’ll be meeting the horse later this year: “I’m going to meet the horse in real life. He’s the returning champ. So I got to go meet him — you know what I’m saying? — and let him know I’m a big fan.”

Elsewhere, the legendary rapper recently ran a 200m race at the United States’ team trials for the 2024 Summer Olympics. The race was a mock trial, with Snoop joining the run for fun. For the mock race, Snoop Dogg was up against four-time Olympic medalist Ato Bolden and 200 metre specialist Wallace Spearmon.

In other news, Snoop recently opened up about his relationship with Dr. Dre, sharing that he has “always been a big brother” to him.
