Netflix and JTBC have dropped a trailer for upcoming K-drama series Romance in the House, starring Son Na-eun and SHINee‘s Minho. Read on for everything you need to know about its cast, plot, trailers and more.
What is the plot of Romance in the House?
Romance in the House centres itself around a family of four: father Byeon Mu-jin, mother Geum Ye-yeon, daughter Byeon Mi-rae and son Byeon Hyun-jae. After several failed attempts at various business ventures, the rest of the family have decided to cut Mu-jin off from their lives, with Ye-yeon stepping up to become the breadwinner of the household.
11 years later, both children are grown adults while Ye-yeon continues to work part-time at a supermarket while Mi-rae becomes the family’s main breadwinner.
When Mu-jin reappears in their lives in hopes for a second chance with his family and shows up as their wealthy landlord, the family are thrown back into the chaos, while Mi-rae gets entangled with a colleague at her work from a different department, who hides a secret about his real identity.
Who is in the cast of Romance in the House?
D.P actor Ji Jin-hee has been cast as Byeon Mu-jin, while High Class’ Kim Ji-soo co-stars as his ex-wife, Ye-yeon. Meanwhile, former Apink member-turned-actress Son Na-eun stars as protagonist Mi-rae, with ASTRO member Sanha starring as her younger brother, Hyun-jae.
Joining them will be SHINee’s Minho as Nam Tae-pyeong, Mi-rae’s colleague. Additionally, Romance in the House is written by Kim Young-yoon and directed by Kim Da-ye.
Is there a trailer for the new Netflix K-drama?
The official trailer was released via Netflix earlier today (July 29), and opens with a glimpse into the family’s life 11 years after their father left the picture. However, things quickly get messier he shows up at their doorstep again after all that time.
It soon launches into a montage of two parallel romantic relationships in the series: the one rekindled between Byeon Mu-jin and Ye-yeon, and the one that’s blossoming between Mi-rae and Tae-pyeong as she leans on him for support amid her troubles.
How to watch Netflix K-drama Romance in the House?
Romance in the House is slated to premiere August 10 on JTBC in South Korea, with new episodes airing every Saturday and Sunday thereafter at 10:30pm KST.
Netflix will be bringing the show to international audiences, with episodes set to be released in conjunction with its Korean broadcast schedule.
