Metro Boomin and Soulja Boy in 2023

Soulja Boy has issued an apology to Metro Boomin after a recent tirade where he disrespected his late mother.

The ‘Crank That’ rapper lashed out at the producer over the weekend, seemingly after a 12-year-old tweet from Metro resurfaced online, where he made a jibe at the former.

In the now-deleted tweet stemming back to 2012, the producer wrote (via VIBE): “My phone rings to come to the studio with Jeezy. Yours rings to send Soulja Boy a pack of beats. Sit down.”

In retaliation on Sunday (May 12), Big Draco took to X/Twitter to repeatedly take aim at Metro and his late mother – whom the producer was close to and died in a 2022 murder-suicide.

“Fuck that n**** mama!!!!!!!!!! Don’t speak on my name bitch! You sacrificed your own mom @MetroBoomin you a puppet,” Soulja Boy shared in a since-deleted tweet (via Billboard).

He also shared an update saying: “All the streams, sales, money, and fame not gone bring your mom back @MetroBoomin was it worth it? can say fuck this money and fame shit and still be a boss can you?”

21 Savage then got involved in the beef, and shared a series of tweets taking aim at Soulja Boy.

“Speaking on a n**** mama like shit a game you gone shit on yourself when I see you boy,” he wrote in one update. He then went on to share a screenshot from an XXL article, which alleged that the rapper had a negative net worth.

Now, a few days after making the comments online, Big Draco has issued an apology to Metro, and claimed that he is seeking professional help.

“I apologise to @MetroBoomin for over reacting over an old tweet,” he shared, also adding: “Condolences to his mom. I’m going to seek therapy and anger management. I’m done responding to hate, new or old.”

Metro Boomin has yet to respond to any of the comments made by the rapper.

In other Soulja Boy news, last month the rapper made headlines after sharing his interest in purchasing TikTok, after the US Congress passed a bill that could lead to the app’s potential ban.

“I can’t believe y’all just gon let them ban TikTok like that,” he wrote. “And y’all think it’s funny. If they do it to this app, they can do it to any app or site. Not cool [for real], y’all will see later.”

He later reached out to TikTok directly, asking them “How much y’all want for [it]? I’ll buy it.”

Around the same time, Metro Boomin announced their joint tour with Future called the ‘We Trust You Tour’ – visit here for remaining tickets.
