Streamer Kai Cenat began streaming Elden Ring recently to prepare for the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, and he’s finally beaten the add on after dying 1,070 times.

Kai Cenat is known for his loud style and his frequent celebrity guests, including the likes of Ice Spice, Nicki Minaj, and even Kevin Hart. Recently, though, he’s been playing Elden Ring, and he’s been struggling so much that he brought a therapist on stream to help him get through a boss fight he’d been stuck on for hours.

It appears to have worked, because after 99 hours and 1,070 deaths, the streamer has finally beaten the DLC. He let out a long, loud scream of elation when he felled the DLC’s final boss. “We did not fucking quit. We fucking did that shit,” he said. He reached this boss around 50 hours in, spending almost another 50 trying to defeat it.

Kai Cenat did a marathon stream of Elden Ring back in May, streaming the game nonstop until he beat it after 166 hours, even sleeping on stream. He did the same for the DLC, but mercifully it took less than two thirds the amount of time.

After he beat Elden Ring, he said, “this game is a cinema. I enjoyed every boss. I’ve never felt some shit in my soul like this. I don’t know what game compares to this right now.” Incredibly high praise, and it seems to have spurred him on to repeat the challenge for the DLC, much to his audience’s delight. His streams have attracted hundreds of thousands of viewers while he’s been playing the game.

In other news, an Elden Ring patch has just been released that makes the game a lot easier. Maybe if it had come out while Kai was playing he would have beat it even faster.
