SZA has seemingly responded to the mixed reception of her Glastonbury headline performance.

The singer took her place at the top slot of the Pyramid Stage on Sunday night (June 30), where her triumphant set list was also unfortunately marred by numerous technical and audio difficulties.

For the first 30 minutes of the performance, SZAā€™s mic was muffled and muddy, rendering the singer nearly inaudible. After 30 minutes, the singerā€™s voice sounded clearer and louder, but would occasionally dip back into muddy quality.

Social media users also noticed that the crowds for her set were smaller than her fellow headliners Coldplay and Dua Lipa, with one person commenting: “That SZA crowd is one of the lowest Iā€™ve ever seen for a Pyramid Headliner. Wow.”

Now, SZA has seemingly responded to the divisive commentary on social media. Taking to X/Twitter, the singer wrote: “The bravery required to be alive in public is remarkable. S/o everybody doing that shit.”

In our review of the singer’s headline set,Ā NMEĀ wrote in a four-star review: “As disjointed as this show occasionally is, though, itā€™s hypnotic and potent. The turnout is noticeably small for a headliner, but the extra space on the ground allows young women to share smiles of recognition and understanding with strangers while singing along to songs centred on overcoming toxic romances and self-esteem battles.

ā€œThis is for my day ones only,ā€ SZA exclaims as she introduces closer ā€˜20 Somethingā€™ to screams from the front section of the crowd. In the moment, their unwavering devotion is clearly the only response that matters.”

Glastonbury 2024 has now closed out. This year’s edition saw Paloma Faith pay tribute to Amy Winehouse with a cover ā€˜Back To Blackā€™ during her performance at the Pyramid stage. Elsewhere, fans have beenĀ sharing their love forĀ GossipĀ following their eruptive set atĀ GlastonburyĀ ā€“ which saw them call out the US government.
