Tencent is partnering with Logitech to develop a âcloud gaming handheldâ that is planned to hit markets later this year.
Logitech announced a partnership with the massive Chinese entertainment conglomerate Tencent via Twitter on August 2. This partnership will be one of Tencentâs first ventures into the hardware market.
According to the announcement, the device will be able to âsupport multiple cloud gaming services.â According to the blog post that accompanied the announcement, both Tencent and Logitech are now working with the teams at Xbox Cloud Gaming and NVIDIA GeForce NOW to facilitate this promise.
It would appear from the statement that the device will work similarly to other cloud gaming devices, with games being rendered on remote servers and streamed to the device.
The partnership seeks to combine Tencentâs expertise in software services with Logitechâs expertise in hardware.

Daniel Wu, general manager of Tencent Games Smart Solution Innovation Lab, elaborated on his companyâs partnership with Logitech.
âLogitech Gâs leadership in PC and console gaming gear make them an ideal partner to help us realize the vision of bringing a better gaming experience to gamers around the globe.â He finished his statement by saying the partnership seeks to âpush the frontier of gaming devices.â
The general manager of Logitech G, Ujesh Desai, shared a similar statement. âAs one of the leading global platforms for game development, publishing and operations, Tencent Games has been at the forefront of innovation and itâs why we partnered with them.â He concluded his statement by saying the ability to stream triple-A games âalmost anywhereâ excites him and heâs eager to show off what the partnership has been working on.
As outlined above, the new untitled cloud gaming device from Logitech and Tencent is supposed to come to market later this year.
