What a journey it’s been for The Dangerous Summer.
When vocalist / bassist AJ Perdomo left to focus on fatherhood in 2014, it seemed to spell the end for the Maryland band. But they couldn’t stay apart, and now – returning as a trio – they deliver a comeback album to be proud of. While their signature driving and contagious alt.rock is present (‘Fire’), there’s also an energy and determination throughout that’s unlike any of their previous work. Whether it’s an all-out party tune (‘When I Get Home’) or a gut-wrenching ballad (‘Ghosts’), Perdomo’s intense performances and emotional lyrics elevate these songs into something truly special.
