It seems a “Drip Inspector” has made their way back to Elden Ring.
Over the past week, several Elden Ring players have reported an encounter with a character known as the Drip Inspector.
The fashion-minded, player-made character will randomly invade Elden Ring games before inspecting the player in question through their telescope or using a torch to get a better look. The Drip Inspector will either give the player’s outfit a nod of approval via the very good stone and disappear, or take the player on in battle.
“Man is deadly and has good taste,” explained one player. “Nothing makes me happier than a top-tier player being a silly goose rather than a toxic agitator,” said another. It seems the Drip Inspector is a fan of custom combinations and flamboyant emotes, rather than full armour sets.

And they’re not the only ones judging Elden Ring outfits. “My friend and I got invaded yesterday by someone running the name Fashion Police,” wrote one player on Reddit. “He tracked us down wearing nothing and no weapons equipped, proceeded to do a few emotes and walk around each of us doing his ‘inspection’. After a minute or so he dropped us each a Marika rune and sent himself home.”
When Elden Ring first launched, a number of drip inspectors were active in the game. While social media is still full of players showing off their favourite outfit combinations (AKA Elden Bling), there hasn’t been an unofficial judge until recently.
Players have reported that drip inspectors have been part of the FromSoftware online community since the launch of the original Dark Souls game in 2011. “My first thought was ‘thank god nothing has changed’,” wrote one Elden Ring player sharing their experience with the drip inspector. “This community is awesome,” they added. “Glad to see the old traditions still hold. I got the fashion police a few times in Dark Souls 3, and I’ve heard the stories going as far back as Dark Souls 1,” wrote another.
Players have also been experimenting with mods that turn Elden Ring into a Pokémon-inspired game, with another taking influence from the world of Bloodborne.
In other news, one Baldur’s Gate 3 player has uncovered a new mini-quest by losing the most important items in the game.
