The Killers

The Killers’ headline set at Outside Lands Festival was briefly paused following a medical emergency over the weekend.

Halfway through the Las Vegas band’s set on Friday (August 9), the music was cut as frontman Brandon Flowers was performing ‘Caution’.

He noticed bright lights towards the back of the crowd, and addressed staff on site while on stage, saying: “Sorry, security, check it out. There are people back there, there’s something going down.”

His actions were later praised by the San Francisco Fire Department, who confirmed (via SFGATE) that there had been a medical emergency in the crowd.

“By stopping the music and letting the crowd know, letting the medical people do their stuff, it’s a benefit to the person experiencing the medical emergency and in some cases it can help save a life,” said spokesperson Jonathan Baxter.

After the brief pause, the band returned to their set and picked up with an interlude of ‘Runaway Horses’ before picking up where they left off.

The Killers at Outside Lands 2024 played:

‘Somebody Told Me’
‘Spaceman’
‘Jenny Was a Friend of Mine’
‘Smile Like You Mean It’
‘Shot at the Night’
‘boy’
‘A Little Respect’ (Erasure cover)
‘For Reasons Unknown’
‘Runaways’
‘Read My Mind’
‘Caution’
‘Runaway Horses’
‘Caution’ (Restarted where the band left off following the medical emergency)
‘All These Things That I’ve Done’
‘When You Were Young’
‘Human’
‘Mr. Brightside’

The band didn’t however play their latest single, ‘Bright Lights’, which they debuted on Friday (August 9).

They are now set play their classic 2004 debut album ‘Hot Fuss’ in full over 10 nights at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, starting on August 14 and wrapping up on September 1.

This summer, the band embarked on their UK and Ireland ‘Rebel Diamonds’ greatest hits tour – including a six-night residency at The O2 in London.
