The Last Dinner Party have announced an autumn 2024 European tour set to kick off later this year.
The 13-date trek will kick off on October 28 in Paris and will see the band make stops in various cities such as Brussels, Amsterdam, Cologne, Lyon, Munich, Berlin and more. The tour will wrap up on November 16 in Luxembourg.
It immediately follows the bandâs long-since sold-out UK tour throughout September and October. A ticket pre-sale will be available for those who have pre-ordered âPrelude to Ecstasyâ from the official store on May 15. General ticket sales will commence on Friday May 17. Elsewhere, the band have previously covered Sparksâ classic âThis Town Ainât Big Enough For The Both Of Usâ.
âWe thought it was about time,â the band said of the cover. Emily Roberts, lead guitarist, further elaborated that her friend Adam messaged her two years ago saying: âYou guys really sound like Sparks, this particular song. And then I became obsessed with it!â
NME spoke to the band at the BRITs this year, where they shared their love for St Vincent after the musician praised the band.
âSheâs a crafter of amazing songs and riffs which we love. And I play her guitar!â said guitarist Emily Roberts, going on to explain how the influence of St Vincent can be heard in âPrelude To Ecstasyâ: âParticularly in âSinnerâ. One of her songs called âMarrowâ [featured the collaborative album with David Byrne, âBrass Tacticsâ] inspired the guitar line for âSinnerâ that I wrote,â she said. âSo sheâs a big inspo!â
In other news, The Last Dinner Party have previously responded to their cost-of-living comments being âtaken out of contextâ. TLDP bassist Georgia Davies wrote in a statement that a quote attributed to lead singer Abigail Morris was actually taken from her: âI can say with confidence that Abigail never said the quote that has been attributed to her in the article thatâs going around.â
âThe comment was lifted from an interview we did six months ago, removed of context, tone and intention, and itâs now been shoehorned into a new article about something totally different,â she continued.
âThe context in which I originally mentioned the cost of living crisis is extremely important, and itâs disappointing to us that itâs been presented in this way.
