The Lathums

The Lathums have announced a run of three intimate UK shows to take place in July this year ā€“ read on for all the details.

The band will kick off the run at The Fire Station in Sunderland on July 12, before heading to Stokeā€™s Keele University the following day and finally Asylum at Hull University on July 18.

These dates join the previously announced major hometown show at Wiganā€™s Robin Park on July 19, where they will be joined by Jake Bugg and Brooke Combe. Tickets for the three new shows go on sale at 10am on April 12, and all tickets can be found here.

The Lathums will also be part of the line-up for Liam Gallagherā€™s Malta Weekender in September, as well as Portsmouthā€™s Victorious Festival in August.

The bandā€™s second album ā€˜From Nothing To A Little Bit Moreā€™ was released in March last year and it earned the band theirĀ second Number One LPĀ in the UK album charts.

The Lathums then followed up the album with the standalone single ā€˜Thoughts Of A Childā€™ in October. Speaking about that track, frontman Alex Moore said: ā€œWeā€™ve all been told before that we, for some reason, arenā€™t good enough. We donā€™t look a certain way or our interests are futile and unachievable. Then, one day, something or someone just turns your world the right way up.ā€

ā€œA partner, friend, a community. Maybe a new job, or is it the sun choosing to shine on you? An angel sent to your underserving hands that just makes everything feel right again with the happiness and purity we feel when we are children. For some reason we lose it along the way. But together we can find it again.ā€

The Wigan four-piece spoke to NME ahead of the release of ā€˜From Nothing To A Little Bit Moreā€™ last year. Moore said: ā€œWhatā€™s the point in putting so much into something that youā€™re not genuinely passionate about? I think itā€™s quite refreshing that people can see that thereā€™s genuine feelings behind these songs, not like a lot of music thatā€™s out nowadays thatā€™s got no emotion or substance behind it. You can tell those people are singing about what they think people want [to hear]. But I donā€™t give you what you want: I give you what you need.ā€
