TikTok has today (August 19) unveiled its ‘Songs Of The Summer 2024’ – check out the full lists below.
The video-sharing platform shared the news in a press release today, declaring that “the summer has been an iconic one for music.”
It continued: “’Brat‘ summers and eighties dancing, rising stars and the return of big industry names, new eras for female pop and exciting urban breakthrough genres: the summer’s biggest music moments have been popping off on TikTok.”
The official UK ‘Song Of The Summer’ on TikTok’s chart was Tinashe’s ‘Nasty’ while the global spot goes to ‘Gata Only’ by FloyyMenor and Cris Mj. Tinashe was also Number Two on the global list.
Others making up the top ten of the UK list included ‘Birds Of A Feather’ by Billie Eilish and ‘Please Please Please‘ by Sabrina Carpenter.
Speaking about the accolade, Tinashe said: “Thank you to all my amazing fans who made ‘Nasty’ the number one Song of the Summer in the UK and number two globally! It’s been so fun and incredible to watch all the videos you have been making on TikTok. I love them all! I’m super grateful for your continued support and hope you all enjoy making more content to the rest of my album ‘Quantum Baby.’”

Last year, TikTok’s ‘Songs of the Summer’ included tracks from Central Cee and Dave, Mae Stephens and FIFTY FIFTY.
The record-breaking UK rap anthem ‘Sprinter’ by Londoners Dave and Central Cee was the TikTok UK song of the summer last year. “The TikTok community’s reaction to ‘Sprinter’ has been amazing and unexpected,” said Cee at the time. “I love it when the community starts their own trends and you can see it taking off.”
