Jin of K-pop boyband BTS recently surprised fans by performing an unreleased extended version of his solo song ‘Super Tuna’.

Yesterday (June 13), a day after he was discharged from the military after two years, BTS’ Jin held a fanmeeting in Seoul, South Korea to commemorate the boyband’s 11th anniversary as part of their annual ‘Festa’ celebrations.

During the event, the K-pop performed some of his solo tracks, including ‘The Astronaut’ and ‘Moon’ from BTS’ 2022 album ‘Proof’. The song even treated fans to a dance cover of bandmate Jungkook’s solo hit ‘Seven’.

Later, Jin surprised fans with a performance of ‘Super Tuna’, a trot song he originally released as a joke on his birthday in 2021, this time with a new verse about “becoming friends” with the titular fish.

After the performance, the singer shared that the extended version of the song will “probably” be released soon.

Jin is the first BTS member to complete his compulsory military service. Rapper J-hope will likely be the next to return some time in the fourth quarter of this year, while the remaining members are due to complete their service in 2025. The group are expected to reconvene as soon as all seven members have been discharged.

In other BTS news, leader RM released his second solo album ‘Right Place, Wrong Person’ last month. In a five-star review of the record, NME’s Rhian Daly wrote that it “never seems to run out of ideas – whether across the whole record or in each individual song”.
