Lzzy Hale and Jon Bon Jovi

Lzzy Hale recently wrapped up her stint fronting Skid Row with a show in Sacramento, but Jon Bon Jovi thinks she should make her role in the band permanent.

Hale fronted the glam metal band for a string of four shows in recent weeks, taking over the role after the band’s previous singer Erik Grönwall announced his departure over health concerns.

The last of the four shows took place at Hard Rock Live in Sacramento, California on June 1, and Hale, who also fronts the band Halestorm, has shared her thoughts on the “wonderful” experience of taking on the role.

Speaking to SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation, she said: “The response has been amazing. And I’m hearing from people that have been seeing Skid Row since 1987 and are just raving about what I bring to the table.

“So, for me, it is friends helping out friends, but it’s also this beautiful milestone in my life where I’m literally being challenged to fill in the shoes that I’ve always wanted to fill from being a kid. So it’s wonderful.”

One Skid Row fan who thinks that Hale did such a good job that she should become the full-time frontperson of the band is Jon Bon Jovi.

During an appearance on Rock Sound, the Bon Jovi frontman was presented with a question from Hale, and before he answered her, he shared his verdict on her stint in Skid Row. Watch the footage below.

“She should please join Skid Row,” he exclaimed. “Please, Lzzy Hale, join Skid Row.”

“Put the two bands together, if you need to,” he continued, referring to Halestorm. “But this is the best thing that happened to Snake since he met me.”

Bon Jovi and Skid Row guitarist Dave ‘The Snake’ Sabo were childhood friends in New Jersey, with the former helping to secure a record deal for the latter in the 1980s.

Hale has said in social media posts that she is unlikely to take on the Skid Row role permanently, writing: “Even though this particular time in my life prevents me from committing to a permanent role in Skid Row…I am sending in my official request to the universe that we will be able to join forces again down the road.”

She has also responded to Bon Jovi’s comments directly on Instagram. “What a compliment, what an honor, and what a tremendous piece of advice!,” she wrote. “Thank you for your kind words and candor.”

Halestorm, meanwhile, are heading on a North American tour in July with I Prevail. Find tickets for those shows here.
