Sabrina Carpenter has shared a new trailer for ‘Taste’, her upcoming single, and it features Jenna Ortega. Check it out below.
Carpenter’s forthcoming sixth album ‘Short N’ Sweet‘ comes out tomorrow (August 23), following a summer of lead single ‘Espresso’ dominating the charts.
In anticipation of the release date, the ‘Please Please Please‘ singer has shared a trailer for her upcoming single ‘Taste’, and it sees her and Wednesday actress Jenna Ortega in a horror-inspired universe.
A video shared to Carpenter’s Instagram yesterday (August 22) shows her browsing a selection of sharp metal objects before making her way to an impressive mansion. Donning a satin robe, the singer walks in on Ortega in the shower with a lover, before teasing Psycho-esque murder scene.
She then uses the murder weapon’s blade as a mirror to re-apply lipstick, while singing “Oh, I’ll leave quite the impression.”

Meanwhile, Carpenter recently revealed that she was “alone” in wanting to release ‘Espresso’ as ‘Short N’ Sweet’s lead single.
The track spent a full month at Number One in the UK earlier this year, reached Number Three on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the charts in 15 other countries. Earlier this month, it reached one billion streams, becoming the third fastest song on the platform to reach that figure, and Adele recently described it as “my jam”.
However, Carpenter told Variety that not everyone thought releasing it was a good idea. “I was completely alone in wanting to release ‘Espresso,’” she said. “Not so much from my immediate team. But when it came to ‘the powers above,’” she air-quoted, “There was a lot of questioning behind whether it made sense. But they trusted me in the end, and I was happy that I believed in myself at that moment.”
Carpenter recently added more UK and Europe shows to her ‘Short N’ Sweet’ tour, in promotion of the album, out August 23. The tour is set to begin next spring, kicking off in Dublin on March 3 before shows in the UK, France, Germany, Belgium and Amsterdam – including an extra date at London’s The O2. Before her Europe shows, however, there’s the North American leg of the tour first. It’ll begin in Columbus, Ohio, on September 23, and wrap up almost two months later on November 15 in Los Angeles. Purchase tickets here.
Carpenter is set to perform at the 2024 VMAs in New York on September 11.
