The awards show ā which was held at LA’s Dolby Theatre ā was hosted by the Compton-raised tennis star, who fired shots at the rapper in her speech last night.
“And if I’ve learned anything this year, it’s that none of usānot a single one of us, not even meāshould ever pick a fight with Kendrick Lamar,” she said, referencing Drake’s current feud with Lamar.
She then went on to seemingly Crip Walk to Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’, which saw the Compton rapper claim Drake was a “certified paedophile” amongst other accusations.
“[Lamar] will make your hometown not like you,” Williams continued. “The next time Drake sits courtside at a Raptors game, they’re gonna Forrest Gump him ā seat’s taken!”

According to DJ Akademiks, Drake has music on the way. Akademiks took to social media to write: āAnd yes.. enjoy all the other noise and bs.. Drake new music otw. and its fyeā¦. trust.”
Drakeās last full-length release was 2023 āFor All The Dogsā. InĀ a two-star review of the LP,Ā NMEĀ said: āIn the hours shortly before the album dropped, Drake announced that he wouldĀ take a break from music to focus on his health. āI probably wonāt make music for a little bit,ā he told fans. āIām going to lock the door on the studio for a little bit.ā Hopefully he returns revitalised and renewed, because āFor All The Dogsā ā his third solo LP in as many years ā not only feels tiring, but sounds tired too.ā
The claims of Drake releasing new music comes amid the rapperās feud with Lamar.Ā The beef between the two came to a head in April, when Lamar contributed a verse to Future and Metro Boominās āLike Thatā, and used the collab to respond toĀ J. Cole, who previously claimed āLove when they argue the hardest MC/ Is it K-Dot? Is it Aubrey? Or me?/ We the big three like we started a leagueā on Drakeās trackĀ āFirst Person Shooterā.
Lamar told Cole and Drake on his āLike Thatā verse: āMotherfuck the big three, n****, itās just big meā. Cole later responded with his own diss,Ā ā7 Minute Drillā,Ā but he later apologised for it andĀ pulled it from streaming.
However, Drake fired back with two tracksĀ āPush UpsāĀ and āTaylor Made Freestyleā. The Canadian rapper then landed in hot water after he used AI to emulateĀ Tupac Shakurās vocals, leading to the late rapperās estateĀ threatening legal action. He subsequentlyĀ removed the trackĀ from streaming.
