Sexyy Red has made her debut wrestling appearance on WWE: NXT and announced that she will be the first celebrity host of NXT: Battleground.

Last week, it was announced that the viral rapper was going to appear on Tuesday’s episode of NXT. Red tweeted that she “couldn’t wait” to the yellow brand and teased that she “might RKO somebody” – referring to the finishing move of wrestler Randy Orton.

Now, the St. Louis rapper has finally made her debut on NXT. “At this time, I would like to introduce the hit-dropping, show-stopping, chain-wearing, baby daddy-freeing, the Hood’s Hottest Princess, Sexyy Red,” said general manager Ava (Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson‘s daughter).

Red had her own jumbotron graphic for her entrance and walked out to her latest single ‘Get It Sexyy’. The 26-year-old also had the infamous Gucci Mane ice cream tattoo drawn on her face. Once in the ring, the rapper unveiled the brand-new Women’s North American Championship belt. Its inaugural winner will be decided after a six-woman ladder match at the NXT: Battleground pay-per-view – an event that Red will be hosting.

While holding the belt up, Red was attacked by NXT star Tatum Paxley who then tried to steal the title ahead of next week’s event. The two ended up in a tug-of-war with the commodity before wrestler Michin hit Paxley and initiated their qualifying bout for the women’s six-person ladder match.

Red also made another appearance in the main event, where she assisted current NXT world champion Trick Williams and Je’Von Evans in winning against tag team Gallus.

After the show, Red met wrestling icon Shawn Michaels – as well as singing his infamous theme song with him in the back of a car.

In recent months, Red has been showing her love for the wrestling superstar – who is head of creative for NXT. First, she posted numerous clips to her Instagram Stories of her and her friends singing along to Michaels’ theme song, ‘I’m A Sexy Boy’.

Then, she shared a snippet of an unreleased song in which she sampled the popular opening music. Recently, she’s been sharing her opinion on the developmental brand in numerous tweets.

The second annual NXT: Battleground will take place next Sunday (June 9) at Las Vegas’ UFC Apex. Check here for any available tickets.

Sexyy Red rose to fame with her raunchy breakthrough song ‘Pound Town’, which later was remixed by Nicki Minaj. Other singles such as ‘SkeeYee’, ‘Hellcat SRTs’ and more also went viral on TikTok ahead of the release of her 2023 mixtape ‘Hood’s Hottest Princess’. She released the deluxe version last December, on which she worked with drill pioneer Chief Keef on ‘Ghetto Princess’ and the remix of ‘F My Baby Dad’.

Last Friday (May 24), Sexyy Red released her highly-anticipated third mixtape, ‘In Sexyy We Trust’ – the follow-up to her major-label debut ‘Hood’s Hottest Princess’. Lil Baby, Mike WiLL Made-It, VonOff1700, and Drake were featured on the record. The latter hopped on ‘U My Everything’, which briefly sampled Metro Boomin’s ‘BBL Drizzy’ beat. The record came two months after the release of her first single of the year, ‘Get It Sexyy’ – which also became her Billboard Top 20.

Earlier this month, Michaels also invited Drake and Kendrick Lamar to “settle” their feud in a NXT ring. This offer came after Lamar quoted the wrestler’s iconic finisher (Sweet Chin Music) on ‘Not Like Us’ – his last track in his rap battle with the OVO founder.
