Taylor Swift performing at the piano on stage during an 'Eras Tour' show

Taylor Swift gave ‘Run’ its live debut at a show in Germany last night (July 24), and marked the fourth anniversary of her lockdown album ‘Folklore’. Watch the footage below.

The pop star played the second consecutive concert at the Volksparkstadion stadium in Hamburg yesterday as part of the European leg of her ongoing ‘Eras Tour’.

During the ‘surprise songs’ section of the set, Swift treated the audience to an acoustic rendition of ‘The Last Great American Dynasty’ from 2020’s ‘Folklore’ before segueing into ‘Run’ – a ‘From The Vault’ track that features on ‘Red (Taylor’s Version)’.

“I’m gonna do a song that I’ve never played in the acoustic section before,” the singer told the crowd. “And it’s from ‘Folklore’, because happy birthday to ‘Folklore’.”

‘The Last Great American Dynasty’ previously appeared in the main ‘Eras Tour’ setlist prior to Swift adapting the show earlier this year to include her latest album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department’.

Last night’s ‘surprise songs’ segment also marked the first live performance of ‘Run’. Next, Swift delivered a mash-up of ‘Nothing New’ from ‘Red (Taylor’s Version)’ and ‘Dear Reader’ from ‘Midnights’ on the piano. Tune in above.

Swift gave ‘We Are Happy’ and ‘Happiness’ their live debuts at the first Hamburg gig after playing ‘Superstar’ for the first time in Gelsenkirchen. Earlier on the tour, she gave ‘Sweeter Than Fiction’ its debut live outing, as well as ‘imgonnagetyouback’ and ‘The Albatross’.

The singer is due to return to London next month for five more sold-out concerts at Wembley Stadium, having played three dates at the venue in June. Support will once again come from Paramore.

In a five-star review of her UK ‘Eras Tour’ opener in EdinburghNME wrote: “Despite being an arena show, in a huge, cavernous venue, Swift and her fans have managed to cultivate a community.

“Strangers swap friendship bracelets, laugh and cry together, and embrace the tour’s in-jokes and lore (for example shouting “one, two, three, let’s go bitch” during ‘Delicate’). It’s the power of Swift, an artist who’s inspired not only the renaming of a Scottish Loch, but also countless fans to come out and embrace being a part of the Eras family.

“With the ‘Eras Tour’, then, Swift’s managed to craft a marvel of a show that comes with a beating heart.”
