Xbox Game Pass

After a busy month for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, August is looking to be just as packed – here’s what we know about new additions to the service.

July saw the long-awaited arrival of Call Of Duty on Xbox Game Pass, with Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 launching on the subscription-based service. However, the new addition has reportedly led to a rise in cheats, while Microsoft have also confirmed a price rise for the service.

Luckily, Microsoft seems to have a bumper crop of games to add to the Xbox Game Pass library.

As it stands, just one title has been confirmed to be joining the service in the coming weeks but that’s set to change very soon.

Mafia: Definitive Edition will be available to play from August 13 for both console and PC subscribers. The original Mafia was released in 2004 for the Xbox, with this remake coming in 2020. “Re-made from the ground up, rise through the ranks of the Mafia during the Prohibition era of organized crime,” reads the official description of the game. “After a run-in with the mob, cab driver Tommy Angelo is thrust into a deadly underworld. Initially uneasy about falling in with the Salieri crime family, Tommy soon finds that the rewards are too big to ignore.”

However, a number of leakers have shared corroborating information about a number of other titles heading to Xbox Game Pass. Here’s what they say.

According to Extas1s and Nate The Hate, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, a remastered collection of the first three Crash Bandicoot games, will be heading to Xbox Game Pass in August. It’s set to be the first of many classic Activision games joining the service following Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard in 2023.

And Crash isn’t alone. According to the leaks, these are all the games joining Xbox Game Pass this August.

Sopa: Tale Of The Stolen Potato – August 6
Creatures Of Ava – August 7
Crash N Sane Trilogy – August 8
Mafia: Definitive Edition – August 13
Wargrove 2 – August 15
Atlas Fallen – August 22
Core Keeper – August 27

Of course, the leaks could be based on outdated or wrong information, so there’s no guarantee all these titles will be coming to the service. More titles could also be added, so players should keep an eye on official channels.

What games are set to leave Xbox Game Pass this August?

According to Xbox, a handful of titles are also due to depart Game Pass very soon. In the next two weeks, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Airborne Kingdom and Shadow Warrier 3: Definitive Edition will all be leaving the service. More departing titles will be confirmed in the near future though.

In other Game Pass news, Microsoft is set to launch Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 as a day one release later this year. Hopefully the company will have cracked down on the cheats that are currently causing chaos in Modern Warfare 3 by then.
