We Are Lady Parts, the cult sitcom about a British all-female Muslim punk band, is returning to Channel 4 for a second season, but when are the episodes out?
The first series, which aired in 2021, introduced audiences to a fictional band called Lady Parts, specifically through the eyes of lead guitarist and microbiology PhD student Amina (Anjana Vasan).
Zaqi Ismail, Juliette Motamed, Faith Omole, Lucie Shorthouse and Aiysha Hart also make up the ensemble cast alongside Vasan.
The first season was named as one of the best TV shows of 2021 by NME, who noted: “This is a show that mashes together the nerve-shredding, shambolic spirit of youth with the raw catharsis of punk, played out by five raucously funny and energised young performers. With a soundtrack that blends modern classics with original music – some of the girls learned new instruments to perform as a real band – this is an exuberant and joyful debut that deserves, at the very least, a second season – and a live tour to boot.”
In November 2021, Channel 4 confirmed that We Are Lady Parts would indeed be returning to screens in the future. “I feel so incredibly lucky and excited to have the opportunity to make a second series of We Are Lady Parts,” Nida Manzoor, the show’s writer, creator and director said in a statement.
“I can’t wait to delve back into the world of the band and go deeper into their lives. Expect more high jinks, more music, and more flights of fancy. SPARTA!”
When is We Are Lady Parts season two on TV?
After a lengthy wait, the new run of six episodes of We Are Lady Parts are streaming now on Channel 4’s video on demand streaming service.
The entire second season premiered there on May 30, while the first two episodes received their broadcast debut on the same night.
In the US, the new season is available to stream on Peacock now.
Season Two of the show also includes cameo appearances from Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai, as well as comedian and writer Meera Syal.
