Today (May 20), YG Entertainment released a video featuring founder Yang Hyun-suk announcing and detailing upcoming plans for BABYMONSTER and TREASURE to release new music in the coming months.
Yang first announced that a performance video for BABYMONSTER’s ‘BABYMONS7ER’ album cut ‘Like That’, which was produced and gifted to the group by Charlie Puth, will be released sometime by the end of the month.
He also shared that the seven-piece will then be gearing up to release their first full-length album sometime in October. While Yang himself only verbally mentioned October as a release window, the English subtitles noted that the release would be in “either September or October”.
In the lead-up to BABYMONSTER’s upcoming album, Yang shared that the girl group will be dropping a song from the album as a pre-release single sometime in July. More details will be revealed at a later stage.
On the other hand, Yang also spoke about TREASURE’s impending release of their new single ‘King Kong’ due out May 28. He revealed that the band will then be dropping a “new album this fall”, although no further specifics were shared.
BABYMONSTER’s release of ‘BABYMONS7ER’ in April marked their first-ever comeback, featuring title track ‘Sheesh’. The record also marked the band’s first release with Ahyeon, who previously had to sit out of the band’s official debut last year due to unspecified health reasons.
‘BABYMONS7ER’ also marked the bandâs second music release of the year, following the standalone single âStuck In The Middleâ in February. The band made their debut in late 2023 with the single âBatter Upâ.
