It’s been confirmed that Fallout: London won’t be immediately available to players who bought Fallout 4 through the Epic Games Store.

Fallout: London is an ambitious player-made mod for Fallout 4 that takes the post-apocalyptic action to London and introduces new quests and factions to the game. It had been due to launch earlier this year, but was delayed due to Bethesda surprise-releasing a next-gen update for Fallout 4 that threatened to completely break the mod.

It’s now been confirmed by GOG, who are helping distribute the Fallout: London mod, that certain players won’t be able to play the mod when it eventually is released.

Initially, the Fallout: London mod will need players to downgrade their versions of Fallout 4 in order for the mod to run correctly. That’s not an issue for players who purchased the game via GOG, because they offer a “very simple and convenient rollback feature” while a similar tool for Steam is in the works (via VG247).

However, the Epic Games Store doesn’t support update rollbacks, meaning anyone who purchased Fallout 4 via the storefront will have to wait even longer to play Fallout London as the team work on making the mod compatible with the most recent update.

Earlier this month, the team behind Fallout London confirmed the mod would be released in the near future, with GOG undertaking quality assurance testing.

“Once they’ve completed the process of double-checking that Fallout: London and its installer work on all supported machines, we should be good to go,” the update post read. “While it may seem like not a lot is going on, we can assure you that the heads of the department have been working non-stop behind the scenes during this time to make the release build as good as it can be.”

In other news, a new mod for Elden Ring turns the Shadow Of The Erdtree expansion into a Pokémon game.
