YouTuber Ben Potter has died at the age of 40, following what his wife has described as an âunfortunate accidentâ.
Nathalie Potter made a statement on the Youtube personalityâs X page, paying tribute to her partner and revealing that he died on June 8.
Potter had a successful YouTube channel called Comicstorian, where he posted videos about various comic series to his three million subscribers. He was known for streaming games, playing against members of the community, and narrating comics. The last video on his channel, titled âWhy DCâs Reboots Beat Marvelâ, was uploaded three days ago.
She addressed his fans in the statement, saying: âTo many of you, he was Comicstorian, voicing stories from across multiple different mediums.â
âTo his loved ones, he was one of the best and most supportive individuals anyone could ask for,â she continued. âAs a husband, a son, a brother, a friend, or even just a stranger, Ben was loving and genuine.â
Two days ago, on June 8th, my husband, Ben Potter, passed away in an unfortunate accident.
To many of you, he was Comicstorian, voicing stories from across multiple different mediums. To his loved ones, he was one of the best and most supportive individuals anyone could ask for.âŠ

She also spoke about his tendencies to listen, âmake time for his loved onesâ and âmake everyone laughâ.
Describing him as âour rockâ she continued her tribute and asked for privacy from his fans: âHe was my world and I need time to be with friends and family. I have so many things I need to figure out but firstly, I need to grieve.â
âI ask that you respect my privacy as well as everyone elseâs. Right now my priority is preserving everything heâs build and I donât have any plans beyond that.â
Nathalie again addressed Benâs online presence, calling his channel âone of his greatest accomplishmentsâ. She explained: âBen spent over 10 years spreading his love and appreciation for his hobbies. It was through his love of exciting stories and well written characters that got him started on YouTube.â
She explained how she, along with his team of colleagues, aims âto honour him by continuing to tell great stories by great people, as well as to keep the memory of our very own superhero alive.â
She concluded her heartfelt tribute by sharing: âWe supported each other on everything we wanted to do and Iâm not about to stop now.â

Along with a weekly podcast, Ben had several channels, including a gaming channel and one dedicated to various Japanese manga series, called Mangastorian. His main channel, Comicstorian, currently has more than 3.9K videos.
Fans of Benâs channel have responded to Nathalieâs post, expressing their shock and sympathy. Fellow YouTube personality HeavySpoilers wrote: âIncredibly heart breaking, Comicstorian was an absolutely incredible YouTuber that pioneered so much and got so many people into reading comics. Devastating news. Rest in peace.â
