As you make your way through Stellar Blade, you will unlock a host of gear and Exospines as you play. These pieces of equipment are key to crafting a great build for Eve when she is taking on tough fights and a lot of enemies.
But, what equipment should you be using once you find more pieces across new levels? This guide will cover some key pieces of Gear you want in your build, as well as a few Exospines that outshine the rest from our time playing through the game.
Best equipment in Stellar Blade
The best equipment, including the best Exopsine and best Gear, in Stellar Blade is:

Protection-Type Exospine
Our first Exospine choice is the Protection-Type Exospine. This offers a substantial boost upon equipping it to Eve’s overall stats and power. Not only does this decrease the damage Eve receives by 10 per cent – but with upgrades will boost your shield.
In addition, this Exospine with the final upgrade has a chance to automatically restore health for 5 seconds when guarding or parrying (which you will be doing a lot of). It only works when your health is below 20 per cent, but it can be a pretty big lifesaver in the heat of a fight.
Chain-Type Exospine
The Chain-Type Exospine is the next best choice. It increases your attack power on combo attacks, which you will be doing a lot on bosses, groups of enemies, and stronger Naytibas you come across in the Wasteland and beyond.
Plus it provides a fantastic boost to your critical damage and critical rate during combo attacks. You can swap this out for the Protection Exospine, but this Exospine makes a great second option when you unlock the additional slot. It also synergises well with some of our gear choices below.
Speed Increase Gear
The first Gear choice on our list is the Speed Increase Gear. This gives Eve a boost to her attack speed, which is good initially. However, with each upgrade Eve’s attack speed gets even faster and it allows you to land more consistent combos.
It should be equipped as soon as you grab it.
Protection Gear
Protection Gear is a necessity for any player. This simply reduces the damage you take, but with most of the equipment slots Eve has access to the simpler the bonus the better the piece of gear is.
You really don’t want to overcomplicate things if you can help it and a flat damage reduction is vital for players less familiar with this style of action game, as well as veterans.
Shield Penetration Gear
The Shield Penetration Gear is an absolute necessity for any player who thrives off pushing towards enemies or never letting a boss get an opportunity to attack. This increases your shield penetration, which when depleted will stun an enemy for a brief moment.
At this point, you can follow through with a devastating combo, land a powerful attack, or blast it with ranged attacks from afar. It fits any build early in the game or as you take on the final few bosses.
Fixed Damage Gear
The Fixed Damage Gear adds an increased amount of damage to each attack when equipped. You want to use this after you have upgraded it one or two times as its damage boost gets significantly stronger.
Free damage – what is there not to like?
Perfect Combat Gear
If you tend to end up fighting enemies while at max health or close, this Gear is perfect for you, providing you with a nice damage bonus. As you get further into the game, you will probably find this gear a little less useful, due to how easy it can be to take damage from some enemies.
Therefore, it might be worth swapping it out for something else in this list once you reach the mid-point or later. However, it can work even in the end-game and new game plus – especially if you are a skilled player.
Risk-Taking Gear
The opposite of the previous piece of Gear, the Risk-Taking Gear gives you an attack boost at low health. So, if you don’t heal too often, or aren’t phased by having a low amount of health, this might be worth equipping.
Generally, you will want to top up your health whenever possible, which makes this gear more of a specialist choice for some players than a necessity.
